Located approximately 14 km from Erdek district center, Turan Neighborhood draws attention not only with its sea and natural beauty but also with its cultural story extending from the past to the present.
🏘️ A STORY EXTENDING FROM FATIA TO TURAN
The former name of the neighborhood, known today as Turan, was Fatia . The settlement was known as Fatia during the period when Greeks lived there, and the gulf opposite it was also known as Fatia Gulf.
Following the population exchange, the demographic structure of the region changed. Pomaks from the Thessaloniki-Karacaova region and Bosniak immigrants from Bosnia’s Bihać region, who arrived in 1927, settled here.
Today, Turan Neighborhood stands out as a special Erdek route where you can experience the traces of this cultural heritage, village life, natural beauty, and coastal atmosphere all together.
